MAKEUPS

One makeup per month is permitted for a submitted absence in our in-person weekly studio classes. NO SHOW absences are not eligible for makeup.

Simply log in to your account then complete the following steps to submit an upcoming absence. Please allow two business days for the absence to be confirmed in our system before attempting to schedule a makeup for it.

STEPS TO SUBMIT AN ABSENCE

  1. Click on MENU icon in upper right corner of the screen

  2. Click on ABSENCES & MAKEUPS

  3. Click the green SUBMIT AN ABSENCE button then follow the prompts

NOTE: After you submit an upcoming absence, we'll need to manually mark it "eligible for makeup" on our end. Please allow up to 48 hours for us to do so (we'll try to do it sooner). As soon as you receive a message from us confirming the updated status, you may then schedule a makeup for that absence.

​STEPS TO SCHEDULE A MAKEUP
Do this at least two days after submitting the absence or once you've received confirmation from us that the absence has been updated to "eligible for makeup".

  1. Click on the listed absence (scroll down to view past absences) 

  2. Click on the green SCHEDULE MAKEUP link listed on the absence

  3. Scroll down to view full list of available options

  4. Click the SELECT button of desired makeup*

  5. Click the blue SUBMIT button


STEPS TO RESCHEDULE A MAKEUP

  1. Pull up the absence on your account

  2. Click on the blue "Scheduled for X date" link located at the bottom right. This will open your current makeup.

  3. You'll see a red "Cancel This Makeup" button. Once you click on that (and confirm your decision) you'll be able to reselect a different makeup.


*Makeups are intended to take place during the month immediately following the end of the scheduled lesson in which the absence occurred. This provides the student additional time in our studio with an instructor to properly complete that lesson.

What is a makeup?

A makeup is an OPTIONAL, one-hour, instructor-led OPEN STUDIO event for students of all ages. It is designed to provide students with additional time in our studio with an instructor's assistance to complete an unfinished project due to an excused absence. By default, the instructor will help the student catch up during their regular class time following an absence so that they are on pace with the rest of the class for the remainder of the lesson. The makeup session will not be presenting/teaching specifics of any lesson but rather providing supervised time in our studio for students to complete their work.

What is an excused absence?

An absence is considered excused when you've submitted it on your account prior to the class you'll be missing. Failure to submit an absence in advance results in a 'NO SHOW' which is not eligible for makeup. Verbal notification to the instructor or any MUSEO staff member is not accepted.
​

Does my student need a makeup?

A makeup is not necessary if a student has completed all their work within the standard class time. That being said, students are still welcome to attend a makeup for up to one excused absence each month, if desired. In this case the makeup instructor will assign a one-day project or the student may work on a creativity-based activity of their choice.

My student attends a MUSEO class online. What makeup options are available for them?

All online classes are recorded. Students who miss a class will be provided with a recording of that missed lesson upon request. Note, the video is automatically deleted two weeks after the recording date.  
​

How many makeups may my student attend?

We will accommodate one makeup per lesson within our standard schedule of options for an excused absence.

 

When are makeups offered?

Makeup sessions are offered during the first two weeks of each month, typically on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

None of the available makeups listed works with our schedule. What are our options?

We try to regularly provide a  variety of makeups on weekdays and weekends. If you are unable to find an option that works for you, please let us know. We'll try to work something out for you. Please keep in mind that makeups are not guaranteed.

 

May my student attend more than one makeup per lesson if the additional absence is excused?  

Potentially (subject to available space). Go ahead and schedule the makeup for the second absence. We'll then temporarily move your student to the waitlist. If space is available as of 48 hours prior to the makeup, your student's spot will be confirmed (you'll receive an email confirmation at that time).

May my student attend a makeup if their absence was unexcused?

A "no show" absence is not eligible for a makeup.

Will the makeup be with my student's same instructor?

While the instructor who is leading the makeup may not necessarily be your student's regular instructor, they are very familiar with the curricula in all classes and able to assist all students as needed. ​
​

May my student attend a different type of class as a makeup?

No. The opportunity to make up missed class time is limited to the specially designed makeups. If you are interested in trying out a different class, we offer free trials in all classes during the first week of each month.
​

How soon after a submitted absence should my student attend a makeup?

Makeups are most effective when scheduled for a date that is soon after your student's regular class has completed the lesson during which your student's excused absence occured. Eligibility to attend a makeup will expire on the final day of the month following your student's excused absence. For example, a student with a Feb 1 excused absence will have an opportunity to attend any makeup during the entire month of March. The makeup eligibility expires March 31.

What happens if my student needs to miss their makeup?

You may reschedule or cancel a confirmed makeup up to 24 hours prior to the makeup. This can be done directly on your account. A "no-show" will not be rescheduled.​

Class Transfer

Temporarily Pause

Your student's enrollment may be paused for up to TWO months. Their spot on the roster will be guaranteed for them when they return. They may choose to transfer to a different class if plans change. No tuition is charged for the time period that enrollment is paused.

Important to note:

  • The request to pause must be received in advance of the paused enrollment time period.

  • Prepayment of tuition for the month of your student's return is required at the time you pause your enrollment.

  • Once selected, your return date cannot be pushed out. Returning later than your selected date will result in forfeiture of your prepayment.

  • Students who withdraw from class prior to the completion of the extended absence will forfeit their prepayment. Deposit will be subject to the standard withdrawal policy.

Month-End Drop

Your student's drop date will be scheduled for the final day of a calendar month only. Mid-month withdrawals are not permitted. Refund/credit for remaining weeks in a paid month will not be issued once payment for that month has been processed. (e.g. if a student chooses to drop prior to the end of the paid month, tuition will not be prorated, credited, or refunded).

Important to note:

  • If you set your student's drop date for next month or later, your deposit will be applied toward your final month's class fees.

  • If you are withdrawing at the end of this current month, you will forfeit your non-refundable deposit.
