PART-TIME INSTRUCTOR

Location: Issaquah, WA 
​The part-time instructor will teach a variety of weekly art classes for kids at our downtown Issaquah studios. Our class offerings include, but are not limited to General Art, Drawing, Painting, Clay, and Manga.

Teaching schedules can be customized according to the instructor’s areas of expertise and availability. Windows of time we're primarily targeting to cover classes are weekend mornings and/or select weekday late afternoons and early evenings. Weekend classes run year-round, while Mon-Fri classes temporarily pause for the summer (summer camp teaching opportunity is available during that time period).

Curriculum is provided--customization by instructors is optional and encouraged, if desired. 

Qualifying candidates will possess the following:

  • Proficiency in one or more class types listed above

  • Working knowledge of art elements and design principles

  • Proven experience teaching visual arts to kids (as a lead instructor)

  • Strong classroom management skills

  • Outgoing enthusiastic personality

  • Positive attitude, team player, reliable, punctual

  • Pottery wheel and ceramics experience is a plus


Pay range: $20 - $30/hr
​Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience and proven ability. Paid sick leave.

STUDIO ASSISTANT

Location: Issaquah, WA
​
As Studio Assistant, you’ll be ensuring that our classes and events run effectively and efficiently. We’re looking for an enthusiastic “can-do” candidate who loves working with a team to ensure a rich and rewarding learning experience for our students.  
 
Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage and maintain art supplies in the studio. Coordinate with art Instructors to ensure that required materials are readily available and in working order.

  • Photograph, upload, and catalogue student artwork photos to a database. 

  • Manage curbside drop-off and pick-up service.

  • Supervise younger students when moving from one studio space location to another (walking from classroom area to restrooms, water fountains, etc.)

  • Light studio cleaning. Ensuring studio spaces are tidy after student use.

  • Assist with general studio/office duties as needed.

 
Requirements:

  • Age 16 or older

  • 1-2 years customer-facing experience preferred

  • Punctual and reliable

  • Outgoing and positive personality

  • Enthusiastic team player. Able to work cooperatively and collaboratively.

  • Comfortable working with children.

  • Self-driven and proactive. Able to work independently.

  • General knowledge of visual art making processing including drawing, painting, ceramics and mixed media (preferred but not required).

 
Working Hours:
Saturdays and Sundays, 10am - 2pm
Additional weekday evening hours available

Pay:
$18-20/hour D.O.E. Paid sick leave.
